Mosaic Tile Cutters

Tile cutters are tools specifically designed for cutting ceramic tiles and some glass tiles. The cutting process has two steps. The first step is to score the tile across its entire length with a thin blade, usually a cutting wheel. The second step is to snap the tile along the line by applying even pressure on either side of the score.

Tile cutters are used to make straight cuts, producing squares, triangles or rectangles. The cuts from a tile cutter are much more precise and cleaner than cuts done with tile nippers.

As always, make sure you wear the proper eye and hand protection, as cut tile can be very sharp.
